Halo is a much-beloved first-person shooter video game series with a long and storied history. It was initially released in November 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved and since then has been developed by 343 Industries, Bungie, Creative Assembly, and Ensemble Studios. The game is available on many platforms, including Xbox, Windows, macOS, Xbox 360, Windows Phone, iOS, Xbox One, Arcade, and Xbox Series X/S. Most recently, Halo Infinite was released on December 8, 2021. While primarily classified as a first–person shooter, some other genres like real–time strategy and twin–stick shooting also appear in certain titles within the franchise.
